Calin Gheorghe Buzea
Dr. Calin Buzea currently works as a medical physicist at the Regional Institute of Oncology in Iasi, Romania. He is an international researcher with over 20 years of experience in the field of Physics, Theoretical, Computational, Experimental and an Expert in Medical Physics with over 10 years of clinical experience in hospitals. Dr. Buzea completed his PhD thesis in Condensed Matter Physics in Iasi in 1998 and his MSc in Biophysics and Medical Physics in 2011, both at the prestigious University 'Al. I. Cuza” Iasi, Romania. He published over 60 papers in ISI journals, 11 books (or book chapters), participated at multiple national and international conferences and workshops. Dr. Buzea is also interested in the project-oriented funding and development of leadership skills in science - many of his research results consisted as parts of research contracts. As Expert in Medical Physics he performs tasks specific to a Radiation Physics Laboratory at the Regional Institute of Oncology. Also he is the president of the 'Romanian Society of Medical Physics” and vice president of the Romanian Society of Oncological Pathology of Head and Neck and in this capacity he organized, together with his colleagues, several Symposiums and Workshops having as major topic, Modern Techniques of Radiotherapy.
