CumhurAydinalp has been appointed Professor of Soil Science in the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition at Uludag University, Turkey, in 2011. He completed his PhD in the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition at University of Aberdeen, UK, in 1996. His interests cover understanding pollution effects on soil/plant/water ecosystems, sustainable use of soil and water resources, soil pollution and remediation, mineralogy, soil chemistry, and soil genesis and classification. He also has numerous research publications in these areas. Dr Aydinalp is an active member of the editorial boards of the American-Eurasian Journal of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, World Journal of Agricultural Sciences and Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Sciences. He is also referee for many international journals such as Chemosphere, Journal of Environmental Management, Journal of Hazardous Materials, African Journal of Agricultural Research, African Journal of Environmental Science and Technology and World Applied Sciences Journal. During his academic life, he has been granted several awards such as International Scientist of the Year for 2005, featured within the 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century in 2006 and Leading Educators of the World in 2006.
