Teh-Chau Liau

Teh-Chau Liau was born in Bogor, Indonesia in 1948, and emigrated to Taiwan in 1960. He received the Bachelor Degree and Master Degree in electronic engineering from Chung Cheng Institute of Technology (now known as National Defense University), Taiwan, Republic of China, in 1972 and 1975, respectively. He had worked on weapon development, in charge of the study of time variable and multi-purpose electronic fuse for many kinds of offensive weapons, and acted as the Director of Electronic Fuse and Vice Chief of R&D in System Manufacture Center, Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology (CSIST) from 1975 to 1990. He wrote many restricted papers for these useful detonating devices, designed some other practical non-destructive equipment for inspecting military-use materials and won the glory of Military Hero title of Republic of China in 1978. In the meanwhile he had been teaching courses in many academies and universities, e.g. Technology and Science Institute of Northern Taiwan (TSINT), China University of Science and Technology (CUST), Vanung University (VNU), and Ching Yun University (CYU). After retiring from the occupation in CSIST, he taught in Department of Double E., Ta Hua Institute of Technology (THIT) as an experienced researcher and full time lecturer before. Right now, Mr. Liau is pursuing PhD in Chung Hua University and researching on special issue about artificial meta-materials, antenna designs, photonics and electromagnetism.
