Andrzej Stokłosa

Andrzej Stokłosa is a full professor at Cracow University of Technology, member of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology. After graduating in chemistry from Jagiellonian University in Cracow, he was employed at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow at the Department of Solid State Chemistry in the group of Prof. Stanislaw Mrowec. Since 1966, he worked there, receiving his Ph.D degree in 1972, and Doctor of Science (habilitation) degree in 1984. Since 1989, he has been working at Cracow University of Technology and he has been Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry receiving the associate professor position in 1990 and full professor position in 1992. Prof. A. Stokłosa is an author and co-author of more than 150 scientific papers, author of the book “Basic Phenomenological and Statistical Thermodynamics” and several standard textbooks for students. He has published in the area of solid state materials sciences associated with: crystallochemistry; structure and thermodynamics of point defects in metal oxides and sulfides; the defects and electronic structure modification effect on the ability of the compound for electrochemical intercalation; kinetics and mechanism of catalytic and electrocatalytic reactions.
