Ulrike Kemmerling

Dr. Kemmerling is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Chile, where she works since 2004. She owns a Master Degree in Pathology and a Ph.D. Degree in Biomedical Sciences. Currently, she is Head of the Disciplinary Program of Anatomy and Developmental Biology. She is actively involved in several scientific societies and research with more than 65 papers in indexed journals. Her area of interest is the host-pathogen interaction, particularly between Trypanosoma cruzi and the mammalian placenta. She is an active reviewer of over 30 different ISI and Scopus-indexed journals. In addition, she has published book chapters, participated as guest editor in journals and an international invited speaker in various conferences, and a visiting professor.
