Alberto Sidney Taylor Blake: 1932-present; Licenciate Biology and Chemistry (University of Panama); MA botany (Indiana University); PhD botany (Indiana University). Associte Botanist (CATIE, Costa Rica: 1964-1967). Professor of Botany (Panama University 1967-present). Head Botany Department (Universidad de Panamá until 1995), extant Research Professor and Graduate Faculty (Full Time). Editor of Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Cyca Biology. Have seen to graduation of almost 40 undergraduates and, at present, with 3 graduate students, Married for 42 years to Isabel Herrera, retired Assistant Professor of Biochemistry (School of Medicine, Universidad de Panamá); two daughters: Melanie and Maritza Taylor and one granddaughter, Mía Victoria. Current interests: research in Cycadophyta and Charophyta, languages.
