Kurt Varmuza studied chemistry at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria. As one of the pioneers in chemometrics, his research activities in chemoinformatics and chemometrics involve development and applications of methods for spectra-structure relationships (MS and IR), structure-property relationships (QSPR), and classification of materials in archaeometry and cosmo chemistry. Since 1992 he has been a professor at the Vienna University of Technology, Austria.
