Mauricio S. Baptista
Mauricio S. Baptista graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of São Paolo in 1990, obtained a Master in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) at the University of São Paolo in 1992 and a Ph.D. In Chemistry at Marquette University, USA in 1996. He did post-doctorate at UW-Madison School of Pharmacy, USA in 1997 and was a visiting professor at the Universitè Joseph Fourier (Grenoble-France) in 2006. Has been a faculty in the Department of Biochemistry, University of São Paolo since 1998 where he is currently a full professor of Biochemistry. Has scientific interest in the following subjects: photochemistry/photobiology, photodynamic therapy, redox processes, cell death, cell membranes and interfaces. Prof. Baptista has also work to improve the international environment of the University of São Paulo since 2006 and became Associate Dean of international affairs in 2014. Has published over 130 papers in international journals that add 4400+ citations (h=38). He also serves as an Associate Editor of the Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences (RSC) and in the editorial board of Scientific Reports (Nature).
