Mauricio S. Baptista
Mauricio S. Baptista graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of São Paolo in 1990, obtained a Master in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) at the University of São Paolo in 1992 and a Ph.D. In Chemistry at Marquette University, USA in 1996. He did post-doctorate at UW-Madison School of Pharmacy, USA in 1997 and was a visiting professor at the Universitè Joseph Fourier (Grenoble-France) in 2006. Has been a faculty in the Department of Biochemistry, University of São Paolo since 1998 where he is currently a full professor of Biochemistry. Has scientific interest in the following subjects: regulated cell death, membranes and interfaces, osteomyelitis, photochemistry/photobiology, photodynamic therapy, redox processes. Has published over 150 papers in international journals that add 5600+ citations (h=43). He is serving as chairman of the Department of Biochemistry at the Institute of Chemistry of USP. He also serves as an Associate Editor of the Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences (RSC) and in the editorial board of Scientific Reports (Nature).
