Royal Military Academy

Daniela Doroftei works in the research group on robotics for high-risk applications of the Unmanned Vehicle Centre of the Belgian Royal Military Academy. Daniela focuses on the human factors that are related to the deployment of robotic systems in realistic operations. In this context, she is responsible for requirements engineering and performance validation of robotic systems and human-robot interaction in multiple European research projects. One example is the EU-FP7-ICARUS project, where Daniela is a work package leader on the topic of user – centered design of search and rescue robots. As an end-user liaison officer, Daniela is responsible for translating the user requirements to technical solutions and for operationally validating and benchmarking the developed search and rescue robots.
