Andrey Petrin
Andrey B. Petrin was born in 1961. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow, Russia, in 1983 and received the Ph.D. degree in physics and mathematics in 1988. In 1983, he joined the S. P. Korolev Space Corporation Energy, Russia, where he has participated in several research projects on antennas and EM propagation. In 1990, he joined the Moscow State University of Forestry, Russia, as a Lecturer of General Physics. Since 1996, he has been with the Joint Institute for High Temperatures of Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, as a Leading Scientific Researcher of Theoretical Department. His scientific interests include propagation of electromagnetic waves, electrodynamics of plasma, gasdynamics, ECR microwave gas discharges, electrowetting phenomena, electric field singularities on geometric singularities such as microtips and microwedges, electric field induced instabilities of free fluid surface, nanofocusing of light energy, heat transfer in nanoscale.
