Barbara Rincon

Dr. Rincón obtained her PhD in Chemistry from University of Sevilla. Her Thesis work was carried out at Instituto de la Grasa, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), in Sevilla, Spain, subsequently; she spent two years at the School of Civil Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. Currently, she works at the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Sevilla. She has more than 15 years of research expertise on the treatment of wastes and by-products coming from food-processing industries, added value products obtaining, biogas production and microalgae. Dr. Rincón has authored and co-authored more than 80 scientific publications including scientific articles, book chapters and conference proceedings. Her research interests are in the fields of biotechnology, biological systems for energy production, environmental engineering, biomass production for biorefineries and biofuels and pollution remediation.
