Silva Zupančić Šalek
Silva Zupančić Šalek completed her Medical studies in 1979 at the Medical School of Medicine University of Zagreb. She completed a specialization in internal medicine in 1988 and a subspecialisation in Hematology in 2000. She worked at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb as Head of the Department for Haemostasis and Thrombosis and Benign Diseases of the Haematopoetic System and Head of the Reference Centre for Haemophilia and Haemostasis Disorders. From 2016 to 2017 she was Head of the Department of Hematology. She is a full Professor of Internal medicine at the University of Osijek and the Medical School in Zagreb, University of Zagreb. Since 2020 she has been a scientific adviser and Consultant Haematologist at the Clinical Hospital Sv. Duh. She improved the Haemophilia Centre, organized the Registry of Patients with Bleeding Disorders improved the treatment. Her field of research includes but is not limited to platelet disorders, rare bleeding disorders, and hemoglobinopathies.
