Sirlei dos Santos Costa, MD, PhD She is graduated in Medicine from Fundação Universitária Federal do Rio Grande (1979), and is a researcher at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in search of excellence and best practices for breast treatment. Plastic Surgeon since 1981, she works as Director of the Center of Reconstructive Surgery in Porto Alegre, the biggest city in the south of Brazil. Since the beginning of her formation, she had an interest in the complexity of reconstructive surgery and focused on the treatment of breast aesthetic or oncological changes. Mastering the knowledge of both areas, oncological breast surgery and plastic surgery, she can offer her patients the state-of-the-art in surgical treatment approach, including the preservation of human integrity using varied procedures and materials for breast reconstruction. She has expertise in video laparoscopy and microsurgery and participates of the activities of many international societies as SBCP, ISAPS, IPRAS, SIS, FILACP.
