Dimitar Sajkov

Dr. Dimitar Sajkov received his M.D., M.M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees from University of Sts Cyril and Methodius, Skopje, Macedonia and his Ph.D. from the Flinders University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia, from 1983 -2001. He was a Research Fellow at the Flinders University of South Australia in Adelaide from 1991-1998, working on clinical trials of pulmonary hypertension and sleep apnea. Dr Sajkov is a recipient of the Australian Thoracic Society prize for physiological research and best presentation in sleep and physiology in 2002. He was appointed a Senior Consultant at the Flinders University Medical Centre in 2002 and lectures at the Flinders University. His major area of research is related to pulmonary hypertension, influenza vaccines clinical trials, COPD and sleep apnea. He is an author of over 30 peer reviewed papers and 70 published abstracts. He is a CEO of the Australian Respiratory and Sleep Medicine institute, ACCP Regent for Australia and an invited manuscript reviewer for number of major medical journals.
