Dr. Sadek Crisostomo Absi Alfaro obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil, in 1979; a master\'s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerai (UFMG), Brazil, in 1983; and a PhD and postdoctoral degree in Welding Engineering from SIMS Cranfield University, UK, in 1989 and 1990, respectively. Since 1983, Dr. Sadek Crisostomo Absi Alfaro has been a lecturer at Brasilia University. From 2003 to 2017, he was Full Professor in the Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering Department, where he developed and coordinated research and development projects for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Currently, he is a senior researcher at Brasilia University. He is a member of several national and international professional associations and the founder of the Automation and Control Group in Manufacturing Processes (GRACO) and the Mechatronics Engineering course at the University of Brasília. Dr. Sadek Crisostomo Absi Alfaro has experience in the areas of mechanical and mechatronics engineering, with emphasis on advanced manufacturing processes including welding, automation, and sensing and experimental statistics.
