Susan Moffatt-Bruce
Dr. Moffatt-Bruce is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon and the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer at the Ohio State University Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University. Having successfully completed Dalhousie Medical School Dr. Moffatt-Bruce competed for and was awarded a residency position in General Surgery at Dalhousie University. She secured the Killam Postgraduate Research Award, the Overseas Research Student Award (University of Cambridge) and the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Bursary Award. She was the first surgical resident at Dalhousie University to complete her Ph.D. during residency training. She was awarded the Bayer-Canadian Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Research Award, the British Transplantation Society Research Award and the Sackler Scholarship. She was the Cardiothoracic Surgery fellow at Stanford University and was on staff at the University of British Columbia, before being recruited to OSUMC. She has become NIH funded with an active laboratory in transplantation research and also developed a passion for Quality and Patient Safety initiatives and process improvement. Dr. Moffatt-Bruce lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband Nigel and their two girls, Emily and Sarah.
