Gökhan Kurt

Dr.Gokhan Kurt graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Gazi University in 1996 by achieving the 2nd rank. He also has obtained a Doctor of Medicine Degree in the Department of Brain and Nerve Surgery (Neurosurgery) in the same faculty. He started his career as a Doctor of Medicine in the Department of Neurosurgery in 2002 and continued his career in the same department in the Instructor and Assistant Professor positions until 2009. As he was successful in the Associate Professor Qualification Exam, He obtained an Associate Professor Degree. In 2014 he was announced to be a Professor of Medicine at the Gazi University. Currently continuing his career in the same department in the Instructor and Professor positions. Dr. Kurt is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society (TNS), and TNS Stereotactic Functional and Epilepsy Neurosurgery Education and Training Group. Moreover, He is on the Editorial Board of the Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences, a periodical published by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). Dr. Kurt has been enrolled in the Leksell Gamma-Knife Education Programme in Stockholm in 2004. He has also been granted an observer status in La Timone Hospital, Marseille, on Gamma Knife Radio-Surgery. In 2012, he completed Epilepsy Surgery Training (Organized by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), ILAE Commission European Affairs (CEA), and ILAE Working Group of Epilepsy Surgery (WGES)) in the Czech Republic. He has also been granted an observer status in the Neurosurgery Clinic of Universite Paris Descartes Centre Hospitaller Sainte-Anne, France, in 2013 on Functional and Epilepsy Surgery. His article “The Effects Of Topical Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor on Dural Healing in Rats After Induced Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage,” achieved 3rd rank in the Best Article Contest in the 3rd Scientific Congress organized by Nervous System Surgery Association.
