Dr. Kaliyaperumal Karunamoorthi holds the Doctoral degree in Medical Entomology and hold Post graduate degree in Medical Entomology from the Vector Control Research Center (Indian Council of Medical Research), Pondicherry, India. He has been awarded the World Health Organization (WHO) studentship during his study. Subsequently he has earned his M.Phil., degree from Annamalai University, and has worked as an Assistant Professor in Medical Entomology, for about six years in India. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor in Medical Entomology at Jimma University, Ethiopia, for the past eight years. Besides, he has completed his Ph.D in Medical Entomology with his main foci of research being largely on plant-based products against insect vector of diseases (especially malaria vector mosquitoes). In the recent years his research is largely focused on plant-based antimalarial products too. In part of his interests in the following research areas, he has published several research articles in various internationally reputed journals in the area of medicinal and aromatic plants, Medical Entomology, Medical Parasitology, Malaria Transmission Epidemiology, Pesticide Poisoning, Insecticide Resistance, Drug Resistance, innovative personal protection measures, Vector biology and Control.
