Pınar Atukeren
Dr. Pınar Atukeren is the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Istanbul, Turkey. She is also teaching in the Department of Medical Biochemistry of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, in the same university, as a senior professor from where she obtained her Ph.D. degree in 2005. She had been awarded the National Research Grant for Successful Students from the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey. Her research interests are oxidative and nitrosative stress, free radicals and antioxidants, natural therapeutics, neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, and aging. Dr. Atukeren has published many papers in indexed journals and edited and authored both international and national books and book chapters. She is a reviewer for many international peer-reviewed journals. She has attended many conferences and workshops and is involved in many training courses and consultations. She is also the head of the Animal Welfare and Ethics Committee and a member of the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. At the community level, Dr. Atukeren is an active member of several governmental and non-governmental societies and committees.
