Sebastien Farnaud
Sebastien Farnaud is Professor at the Institute for Health and Well-being Center at Coventry University, and Research Lead for the Bioscience and Biotechnology Engineering Theme in the Centre for Sport, Exercise and Life Sciences (CSELS). Sebastien has been working in the field of Iron Research with applications in human metabolism but also in microbiology, for over 20 years. He has developed his academic and research experience in several academic institutions, including Coventry University but also Imperial College, King’s College London, and the University of Westminster, but also in the third sector as Science Director of a medical research charity. In addition to his interest in biomedical aspects of iron metabolism, particularly in Parkinson's Disease, Sebastien has a particular interest in Microbiological and Biotech applications in Bioremediation and Bioleaching, where iron plays an essential role. Over the last 2 decades, his strong interest in Enterprise & Innovation, which includes the creation and directorship of several companies, has led him to the position of Enterprise and Innovation lead at the Institute of Health and Life Sciences at Coventry University.
