Oner Ozdemir
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öner Özdemir was born in Alaplı, Zonguldak, Turkey on September 18, 1965. He graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Medical School and become a medical doctor in 1989. His pediatric residency was completed at the Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of İstanbul Medical School, Istanbul, Turkey. His clinical fellowship training was completed at the Pediatric Allergy/Immunology program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Ctr., New Orleans, LA. A part of his clinical fellowship training was done at the pediatric allergy/immunology program in Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH. Prof. Özdemir's research areas are as follows: LAK-cell generation and cell-mediated cytotoxicity; human mast cell development and mast cell cytotoxicity; and apoptosis -related research. He was 1st place winner of Clemens Von Pirquet Award from ACAAI at ACAAI meeting in 2005 for the best research on allergy/asthma/immunology by a fellow in training. He has 45 international and 20 national publications, as well as 85 international and 25 national presentations. Currently, he is working as Chief of Pediatrics at the third clinic associated with the division of pediatric allergy/immunology at İstanbul Medeniyet University, Göztepe Teaching and Training Hospital, Kadıköy, Istanbul, Turkey.
