Peter Smith
Peter R. Smith, MD, is the Chief of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at University Hospital of Brooklyn at Long Island College Hospital. He is co-director of the hospital’s Thoracic Center, a co-director of the Asthma Center, director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center, and director of the Smoking Cessation Center. Dr. Smith is Professor of Clinical Medicine at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, and the author of more than 80 scientific publications. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Chest Physicians, and a member of the American Thoracic Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Smith is Past President of the American Lung Association of the City of New York. He has been repeatedly selected for inclusion in New York Magazine’s annual “Best Doctors in NY†and The NY Times annual “Super Doctors,†as well as the Castle Connolly Guide “The Best Doctors â€' New York Metro Area†and the Woodward White Guide, “The Best Doctors in America."
