Degree (110/110 cum laude and award as the best graduate of the year) in Agricultural Science in 1984 at the Faculty of Agriculture of the Università Cattolica del S. Cuore (UCSC) of Piacenza. Assistant (1984/88) at the same University. Ph-D degree in Molecular Biotechnology (1992). Visiting scientist at I.N.R.A., at the Dairy cow station of Rennes, France (1992) and at the Department of Biochemical and Nutritional Science, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK (1994, 6 months). Research Scientist at the Agriculture faculty of UCSC since 1993. From 2002 is Professor in “Food Technology and Commodity Science” degree in Dietetics (UCSC-Claudiana, Bolzano); 2004-2009 in charge of the course “Victualling and evaluation of animal products” second level degree in “Animal Production” (UCSC); from 2009 in charge of the course “Animal biology” first level degree in “Agricultural Science and Technology” (UCSC). He participated in several national projects funded by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR); by Ministry of Agricoltural and by the Ministry of Health. He is author of more than 170 experimental papers, several in peer reviewed journals, focused on: ruminant endocrinology, health and welfare status of domestic animals; physiopathology of dairy cows; inflammatory conditions as cause of endocrine – metabolic alterations, fertility impairment and milk quality changes; nutrigenomic. He is member of many scientific associations (Italian Scientific Association of Animal Production, Society of Buiatrics, Italian Society Veterinary of Laboratory Diagnosticians, Italian Society Veterinary Sciences, International Society on Farm Animal Endocrinology, American Society of Animal Science).
