I am a Public Health Research Officer with the University of Queensland. I have worked on several public health research projects determining how geographic and demographic measures impact on the health of the population. One of my main projects was illustrating a range of alcohol measures in the Alcohol Profiles for England by extracting the alcohol related hospital admissions statistics and calculating the European standardised rates for each local authority and English region. I also produced and analysed similar regional and national datasets for the Child Health Indicators project, COPD & asthma emergency hospital admissions and linked GP disease management data as well as mental / psychiatric admissions for juvenile males. I assisted in the publication of many regional public health articles, such as the Health Equity series and the Synthesis reports.
