Smiljana Matic
After her specialization in oral surgery in 1980. prof. Smiljana Matić was intersted in oral implantology and was one of the first implantologists in former Yugoslavia. Through her work she greatly contributed to the development and recognition of implantology in Serbia. She was one of the founders of the Association of oral implantologists of Serbian Medical Society in 1995 and its first president for four years. She was the first mentor of two PhD theses and four M.A. degrees. She has participated in the advanced training in oral implantology of more than 60 dentists and in specialization of oral surgrey of 35 dentists. She has published 117 original and professional articals and the textbook on the basics of oral implantology.
