Ángel Jesús Varela Vaca

Angel J. Varela studied Computer Engineering between 2001 and 2008. In 2009, he obtained a fully funded predoctoral grant by Junta de Andalucía and he got the grade of MSc in Software Engineering. Finally, he obtained the grade of Ph.D. from the Universidad de Sevilla in 2013. He started his professional career as a researcher and teacher in 2008, focused on Cybersecurity, Business Process Management, and Software Product Lines as main research lines. He has generated 50 publications approx. between journals, conferences, chapters, and others. He has been a member of TIC-134 and currently he is a very active member of the TIC-258 group. Regarding projects, he has participated as a working package responsible for 4 competitive national projects and 1 regional project. He has participated in 6 transference projects (Art. 83/68), 4 as a Principal Researcher, and the other 2 as collaborator researcher. He has taught more than 1800 hours since 2008 distributed in 3 Computer Engineering Grades and 3 Official Master Grades at the University of Seville. He is an active lecturer in the Master of Cybersecurity of the University of Seville since 2013. He has led more than 20 TFM and 2 TFM in Computer Engineering and Software Engineering Grades and Master Grades. He has participated in three innovation projects. He is the supervisor of three Theses, two of which have publications in an indexed forum (1Q1, 1 Q2 and 1 Class 2, and 1 Q2 respectively). He has an active member of the organization committee and PC member in the JENUI conferences since 2011.
