Kiplagat Ayabei

University of Eldoret

Dr. Ayabei Kiplagat is a lecturer of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Eldoret, Kenya. He received his master's degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Eldoret, Kenya, and his doctorate in Chemistry from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He has accumulated extensive skills in chemical instrumental analyses and analytical spectroscopy. Currently, he acts as the head of students’ evaluation programmes at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Eldoret, Kenya. He has five years of university teaching experience, he has attended and presented in nine scientific conferences and published eleven scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has also supervised two masters’ projects and thirteen undergraduate research projects. He is affiliated with the South African Institute of Photonics, and is a member of Organometalics and Nanomaterials Laboratory, UWC, and of the Nanotechlogy Innovation Centre and Biolabels Unit, UWC. His research interests include exploring synthetic methods, characterization and the applications of nanomaterials (magnetic nanoparticles, application in biomedical processes, e.g. diagnosis, drug delivery and treatment).
