Hua Song

Dr. Hua Song was born in Xi’an, Shaanxi, P.R. China in 1978. He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University (2001) and M.S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Tsinghua University (2004) in China. He then continued his study in Heterogeneous Catalysis in the United States and received his Ph.D. degree from Ohio State University in 2009. He joined the Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) company right after his graduation and then transferred to RTI International after one and half years. Dr. Song is now holding a Lead Research Chemical Engineer position at RTI International and acting as the principal investigator of multiple projects funded internally and externally. His prior and current work has concentrated on development and characterization of catalyst systems for use in energy conversion and emissions control. He has more than 30 publications and involved in several book chapter writing for his research in these areas and holds 6 patents. His research has been included into the Hydrogen & Fuel Cells University Research and Education Programs Database by U.S. Department of Energy since 2008 and has been recognized by multiple public media including NPR, UPI, CEP (AICHE), Tcetoday (IChemE), Science Daily, Columbus Dispatch, etc. Dr. Song has also been invited as the speaker of various professional meetings held nationally and internationally and as an expert reviewer of multiple professional magazines with high impact factor in the field of energy and catalysis including Applied Catalysis, Energy & Fuels, and International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.
