Sergio Aurtenetxea (S'04–M'07) received the B.Eng. degree in industrial electronics engineering from the EUITI of Eibar, Eibar, Spain, in 2000 and the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in automatic and industrial electronics engineering from the University of Mondragon, Mondragon, Spain, in 2003 and 2007, respectively.from 2001 to 2007, he worked for the University of Mondragon where he combined teaching and research activities at the Department of Electronics. He joined as a Lecturer in Power Electronics in the same university from 2003 to 2005. Since 2007, he has been a Research Engineer with the Renewable Energy Systems area in Ingeteam Power Technology, S.A., Zamudio, Spain. His main research activities are associated with managing and implementing technology transfer from research projects to future medium-voltage power converter products (topology selection, design concepts, control methods, protection techniques, integration specifications, etc.), particularly when they are employed to wind turbine systems and storage technologies based on hydrogen.
