Naziano Filizola

Naziano Filizola is Brazilian geologist with MSc degree in regional/environmental geology (Universidade de Brasília, Brazil) and a Ph.D. in hydrology and geology (Université de Toulouse, France). He teaches courses in the area of hydrology and water resources (undergraduate and postgraduate) at Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM), and at Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (INPA), both located in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. In more than 15 years working in the water sector, Naziano developed his activities in the fields of water resources management, fluvial dynamics and hydrologic monitoring systems for national and international companies and agencies. Currently Naziano manages the UFAM Potamology Laboratory where his main research area is the Amazon rivers dynamics (water and sediments) and its relationship with the human’s activities.
