Anke Koenig

Anke Koenig (Ph.D.) is an educational scientist. She is currently a professor for general education specializing in early childhood education (ECE) at the University of Vechta. For many years she has been the project director of the 'Early Years Professional Development Initiative” (WiFF) at the German Youth Institute (DJI) in Munich. She is a reviewer for several educational journals, an active member in different research organizations (German Society of Science Education (DGFE), European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI)), and board member of the Pestalozzi- Froebel-Association (pfv). Her research interests include enculturation and education in childhood, socio-cultural theory, Inclusive Education, and Diversity. In addition, she does research on interaction and participation processes in ECE and underpins an ethic of pedagogical relationships.
