Ali R. Bandani
Dr. Ali R. Bandani is a professor of Insect toxicology and physiology in the Department of Plant Protection, University of Tehran, Iran. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Tehran and his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Agriculture at the University of Reading and Department of Entomology and Nematology of the IACR-Rothamsted, UK. He did a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences of the Swansea University,UK. He recently done one year sabbatical in the Biological Science of the University of Durham, UK. His research interest includes insect physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology. His recent projects are centred on the development of RNA technology (RNAi and miRNA) and manipulation of interaction between symbiotic bacteria and insect in order to control insect pests.
