Associate Professor in Mathematics. Research experience from the University of Utah, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Guelph. Major scholarly contributions include publications in peer-reviewed journals and books. Good teaching experience of basic and interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate courses. Developed an independent research program in the department on disease modeling. Received national and international research grants. Editor and reviewer of several peer-reviewed journals. Research expertise in Multiscale modeling and simulations of complex systems (mostly infectious diseases) using mathematical and statistical techniques. Specific areas: - Disease modeling (Compartmental, Spatial, Agent-based, and Network models, Optimal control model). - Applications of Game theory to model human behavior in relation to infections and control. - Socio-economic growth and emergence of Drug Resistance - Application of Bayesian inference modeling. - Pathogen evolution in the emergence of new infections - Application of Evolutionary game theory and Social networks.
