Delower Hossain

DR. Delower Hossain, working as Assistant Professor, Dept. of Medicine and Public Health under Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka, Bangladesh since December 2018. He has completed his MS (Medicine) degree under Dept. of Medicine and Surgery at 2019 from Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU). He has completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at 2016 from CVASU. He has been secured an excellent academic record with a one-year duration internship and externship program to complete DVM. He won the Best Clinical Award for excellent clinical performance at S.A. Quaderi Teaching Hospital, (CVASU) at 2015. He has immense interest to work for animal health and welfare. He had been working as Research Assistant (RA) in a Bangladesh-Sweden-Netherlands collaborative project “Development of Udder Health Control Programme in Dairy cows in Bangladesh” funded by Swedish Research Council, Sweden from January 2017- November 2018. Now he is engaged with Udder Health Bangladesh as a member and has been training dairy farmers to improve dairy farming and udder health. He won the prestigious Gustav Rosenberger Memorial Award (GRMF) 2019 for the first time in Bangladesh due to his excellent research and contribution in dairy in Bangladesh. He is a life member of One Health Bangladesh and Udder Health Bangladesh (UHB) as well as a global outreach member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM). The \"Standard Treatment Guidelines\" (STGs) for food animals was introduced by the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) of Bangladesh in collaboration with \"Food and Agricultural Organization\" of the United Nations (FAO-UN). Dr. Hossain was a member of the team that contributed to the development of this STGs. Currently, he is doing Ph.D on Food Safety, Consumer Sciences and Antibiotic resistance: One Health Approach at the University of Milan, Italy. Research interest: Infectious diseases, Antibiotics Resistance, Udder Health and Mastitis, Dairy Science, Herd Health, Zoonoses and Public Health
