Ricardo Tellez-Limon

University of Monterrey Mexico

Dr. Ricardo Tellez Limon was born in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico in August of 1983. In 2009, he obtained his BSc in Applied Physics from the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (FCFM-BUAP), and in 2011 his MSc degree in Optics with orientation in Physical Optics from CICESE. In 2014, he obtained his PhD degree in Optics and Nanotechnology from the Universite de Technologie de Troyes, in France, where he also spent 8 months as a postdoctoral researcher. Additionally, he spent one year as a postdoc at Electrical and Computer Engineering department of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). His research work is focused on the development and characterization of integrated nanophotonic devices based in plasmonic resonances. His expertise areas include the development of numerical methods for the study of light-matter interaction at the nanoscale, as well as near-field and far-field experimental techniques for characterization of integrated optical structures, including near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dark-field microscopy, k-space microscopy, spectroscopy, and photoluminescence. His abilities also include the use of clean-room facilities for the nanofabrication of plasmonic/photonic devices through e-beam lithography. Nowadays, Dr. Tellez Limon work at the Unidad Monterrey of CICESE under the program Catedras CONACYT.
