Dr. Lourdes Benes is a board-certified neurologist fellowship-trained in Cognitive & Behavioral Disorders as well as Movement Disorders. She has been practicing medicine for two decades caring for patients and caregivers dealing with conditions such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Frontotemporal Dementia, and Lewy Body Dementia. Dr. Benes is an expert in brain health and brain fitness training for patients dealing with cognitive and behavioral disorders as well as people wanting to boost memory, focus, mental skills, reflexes, and acuity. Dr. Benes has extensive experience in clinical procedures such as botulinum toxin injections (migraine headaches, cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, and spasticity), occipital nerve blocks, trigger point injections as well as in the interpretation of electroencephalograms. As part of the faculty at UCF College of Medicine, she gets to teach residents and medical students numerous topics in neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Medical Association, Movement Disorders Society, and Florida Medical Association. Dr. Benes is currently doing clinical research and has published articles in scientific journals as well as giving educational lectures at numerous venues throughout the U.S. to physicians and patients alike.
