Alberto Jiménez-Suárez

King Juan Carlos University, Spain

Alberto Jiménez-Suárez is a senior lecturer at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in the Materials Science and Engineering Area. Started almost 15 years ago his research is in the field of the incorporation of nanoparticles to polymer matrices to confer them new functionalities. His initial research was mainly focused on the obtention of electrically conductive epoxy-based nanocomposites with particular attention on the manufacturing parameters that may affect their dispersion in the polymer matrices. Later, the research was applied to the development of new functionalities such as structural health monitoring, self-heating for de-and anti-icing systems, or thermal activation of polymers with self-healing and self-heating capabilities. Finally, current research continues with the development of new nanocomposites and multiscale reinforced composites, but also with a perspective of their environmental impact. He is the author of more than 80 JCR-indexed articles with an h-index of 22 according to the Scopus database. Currently, he is sub-director of the Official Master School at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, in charge of End-of-Master Projects, External Internships, and Companies Relations.
