Yalın Baştanlar

Yalın Baştanlar received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Informatics Institute, Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey) in 2005 and 2009 respectively. During his Ph.D. studies, he worked on 3D computer vision. He was with the Perception Group at INRIA Rhone-Alpes as a visiting researcher in 2008. He conducted a post-doctoral research visit to Oxford Brookes Vision Group in 2010. Afterwards he joined the Department of Computer Engineering, Izmir Institute of Technology (Izmir, Turkey), where he currently works as an associate professor. Yalın Baştanlar leads the Computer Vision Research Group at Izmir Institute of Technology (cvrg.iyte.edu.tr). Most of his funded projects fall between computer vision and artificial intelligence research areas. He has authored or co-authored 25+ refereed international journal/conference publications and 2 book chapters.
