Afidalina Tumian
Dr. Afidalina's research interest is in data analytics and computational statistics, having graduated from the University of Oxford with a DPhil in Bioinformatics. She has experience working with both structured and unstructured data. Her DPhil thesis was to understand the evolutionary aspect of the recombination process across mammalian species, and some of her work was published in Science, Nature, and eLife. Presently, she is actively engaged in several cross-disciplinary research projects in healthcare, biotechnology, and genetics; while teaching several undergraduate-level courses. Among the courses that she has taught are programming courses, probability and statistics, and some mathematics courses. She favors open-source tools like R and python.
