Sandeep Thanna

Fox Chase Chemical Diversity Center

Education: Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, University of Toledo, Toledo, OH, USA Current Position: Scientist, Fox Chase Chemical Diversity Center (FCCDC), Lansdale, PA, USA Dr. Sandeep Thanna received his Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from The University of Toledo, Toledo, OH, USA. He is currently appointed as Scientist, Medicinal chemist at Fox Chase Chemical Diversity Center (FCCDC), Lansdale, PA, USA. Dr. Thanna is involved in developing and synthesis of DART (drugs acutely restricted by tethering) probes to non-invasively map cell type-specific behavioral effects of clinical drugs on the brain. Which is part of a larger effort to develop an effective treatment against neuropsychiatric diseases. Prior to joining FCCDC, Dr. Thanna received postdoctoral training as a medicinal chemist at the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked on developing new tools to monitor and regulate a type of anti-cancer immunotherapy called CAR-T cell therapy. Dr. Thanna's Ph.D. research was focused on method development and synthesis of carbohydrate-based molecular probes and drug candidates as a part of drug discovery efforts against enzymatic targets involved in the trehalose utilization pathways (TUP) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb).
