Frederic Jaisser

Frederic Jaisser, MD, PhD, is a director of research at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM). Dr. Jaisser received his medical training and degrees from Reims Medical School and qualified as a nephrologist in 1990. In 2003, he joined the Collège de France in Paris and currently manages a team of the INSERM Unit U1138 at the Cordeliers Research Centre, Paris, where he is Deputy Director and Head of the “Pathophysiology, Metabolism” Department. He was the Scientific Delegate of the Pathophysiology Committee of the French National Research Agency and is the French Coordinator for Life Sciences in the ECOS French-South America exchange programme. His research is focused on the understanding of pathophysiological roles and signaling pathways whereby the hormone aldosterone promotes pathologies in various organs, including the kidney and cardiovascular system. He was Chair of the European Network on Aldosterone (EU COST Action ADMIRE).
