Asunción López-Varela Azcárate

Asun López-Varela is Associate Professor at Universidad Complutense Madrid. Her research interests include Cognitive and Intermedial Semiotics, Interartistic Studies and Comparative Literature. In 2007 she established the research program  Studies on Intermediality and Intercultural Mediation SIIM. A proactive member of the profession, currently she is Deputy Head of the Department of English Studies, President of the European Society of Comparative Literature  She also serves in the Executive Committee of the Association of Alumni of the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University and member of the Marie Curie Alumni Association MCAA She also collaborates with the Marie Curie Program of the European Office of the Fundación Española de Ciencia y Tecnología FECYT . With  training on Research Integrity (2017-18) by Epigeum Oxford University Press, she collaborates in RRI Responsible Research and Innovation  within Horizon 2020 Prof. López-Varela serves as the evaluator for several national and international agencies She has been visiting scholar at Brown Univ. and Harvard Univ. and visiting professor at various universities in Asia. She is an honorary member of the  Poetry Award Committee of Beijing Literature and ArtNetwork.  She is also keen on giving international visibility to research by colleagues and younger peers, and her editorial activities are a clear sign in this direction.
