Patricia Larocca is a senior research scientist at the Institute of Applied Geodesy and Geophysics of the Faculty of Engineerings of Buenos Aires University. She has a M.Sc. in Physics received from Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, and Ph.D. in Engineering received from Faculty of Engineerings of Buenos Aires University. She is an Associate Professor at the Facultad de Ingeniería for over ten years. In 2007 Dr. Larocca joined the Institute of Applied Geodesy and Geophysics and since then works on multiple scientific topics related to space weather, from the effects of geomagnetic storms on power systems and pipelines to satellite environment and to space weather forecasts. She is a leader and collaborator on multiple research projects dealing with impacts of space weather on pipelines, power grids, investigated the ionized radiation on satellite orbits.
