Lina Lopez

Dr. Lina López is an Associate Professor in the Geological and Mining Engineering Department at the School of Mines and Energy, at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. She holds a B.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. Dr. López has had two research stays at Mines Paris Tech (France) and New Mexico Tech (USA). She was awarded a Research Fellowship from 1999-2003 funded by Madrid Regional Government - FPI. Dr. López is the author of 4 books, 33 publications in scientific journals, and 40 contributions to national and international conferences, and a reviewer of Scientific JCR Journals (Elsevier) and at International Conferences. She has been a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE) since 2001, and a member of the Fragblast International Organising Committee (FIOC) since 2015. Her research interests include explosives behavior and characterization, safety and modeling of explosives, physics of the explosives, thermodynamic calculations and blasting; safety and security Engineering; Explosives testing.
