Julian Arnaldo Avila
Dr. Avila is working as an assistant professor in the Aeronautical and Telecom Engineering programs at UNESP. He is highly interested in the mechanical behaviour of materials upon different industrial processing with a focus on welding. He has worked with welding and joining (FSW of HSLA steels, Al and Mg alloys), advanced microstructural characterisation (SEM, EBSD, X-ray) and mechanical testing such as fatigue and fracture toughness. Currently, Dr. Avila is working with the residual stress assessments by DRX and Barkhausen noise, microstructural and crystallography characterisation of FSW joints in pipeline steels, aluminum alloys, and mechanical and microstructural assessment of a steel fabricated by additive manufacturing.
