Adolfo Figueiras

Bachelor of Pharmacy and Medicine PhD, Master of Public Health from the University of Santiago de Compostela and Master of Pharmacoepidemiology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is also a graduate in design and statistics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is the author of more than 100 publications indexed in the ISI Web of Science, many of them published in the prestigious mayor's journals in the field of Epidemiology and Public Health (American Journal of Epidemiology, Epidemiology Environmental Health Perspectives, Drug Safety, Medical Care, Journal Antimicrobial Chemotherapy) and in relevant clinical journals, such as JAMA. Since 2009, he belongs to the editorial committee of the magazine Drug Safety (Q1). He has carried out as principal investigator in nine projects of the Spanish National Research Plan (FIS) and has directed 14 doctoral theses. He has obtained several prizes at the national level, including two first prizes for the best article from the Spanish Society of Epidemiology, a first prize from the Spanish Society of Primary Care Pharmacists and the first prize from the IV edition of the Esteve awards. He is an evaluator of the main Spanish and Portuguese biomedical research agencies. From 2013 to 2014 he was a panelist of the Technical Evaluation Commission of the ISCIII of Health Services and Epidemiology, and from 2015 to 2019 he was attached to the Technical Evaluation Commission of the ISCIII of Health Services and Epidemiology. He is the group leader of Santiago de Compostela of the CIBER of Epidemiology and Public Health, and coordinator of the group of Epidemiology, Public Health and Evaluation of Health Services of the Sanitary Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela. He is currently coordinator of the Master's Degree in Public Health at the University of Santiago de Compostela
