Ishmael Msiza is with the Biometrics Research Group, within the Modelling and Digital Sciences Unit, at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). He is also with the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). He was, in September 2010, invited by the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) in Poland to work - as a Visiting Scientist - on a transformer fault detection problem. An award-winning researcher, Ishmael has served as a reviewer for the 2007 PRASA Symposium, the 2009 IEEE African Conference, the International Journal of Systems Science (IJSS), and the South African Journal of Systems (SAJS). Some of his work has been presented and discussed in countries like the USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Brazil, South Africa, and Poland.
