Ignacio Martín-Loeches

Dr. Ignacio Martin-Loeches received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain and trained in Intensive Care Medicine from Doctor Negrín University Hospital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Dr Martin-Loeches completed an additional year of fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin. He was appointed Consultant Intensivist in St James University Hospital, Dublin after he return to Spain. He completed a PhD through the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain on genetics and severe Community Acquired pneumonia in 2008. He is currently working as a Consultant Intensivist at Parc Taulí Hospital-Sabadell, Barcelona, Spain. He has published several articles in international journals and chapters in scientific books, and serves as a reviewer for peer–reviewed journals of intensive care medicine, amongst others. His interests are critically ill infection, sepsis and translational medicine.

In addition, bronchitis represents, in some occasions, an intermediate process that easily explains the damage in the lung parenchyma.
