Abdelghaffar Dhmees
Dr Abdelghaffar S. Dhmees obtained his M.Sc degree (2010) from the faculty of science, Menofia university, Menofia, Egypt in extraction of radio metals using solvent impregnation techniques. He obtained his PhD degree (2015) from the faculty of science, Ain Shams university, Cairo, Egypt on production of biodiesel from non-edible oils by using cost-effective catalyst based on iron/steel slag. Currently, he is serving at Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI), Cairo, Egypt as an Assistant Professor in Chemistry. His research activities are focused, on one hand, on valorization of industrial wastes to biofuels and valuable materials for adsorption and photocatalysis. On the other hand, he is also interested in synthesis of advanced materials such as; transition metals dichalcogenides (TMDCs) for electrochemical energy storage systems, especially supercapacitors. He has two ongoing projects on upgrading of tire pyrolysis oil to diesel- like fuels using catalyst derived blast furnace slag and CO2 capture and storage in ecofriendly polymer-concrete composites
